<p>Executive Chef Luisteen has cooked up traditional and tender picadillo using <a href="http://www.tallgrassbeef.com" target="_blank">Tallgrass</a> Beef. Picadillo is an authentic homestyle Mexican dish prepared with ground beef and diced vegetables.  We&#8217;ve named this taco the &#8220;Gringo&#8221; taco even though it&#8217;s exceptionally traditional due to the American fascination with ground beef tacos. We couldn&#8217;t succumb to sour cream, hard shells or yellow cheese.</p>

<p>Enter <strong>Jen Queen</strong>, <strong>Lucien Conner</strong> and <strong>Ian Ward</strong>, three of Adler&#8217;s favorite local mixologists who just happened to have recently formed a new cocktail consulting power team dubbed the <a href="http://sandiego.eater.com/archives/2013/01/29/a-bartender-triple-threat.php">Queen-Conner-Ward Collective</a>.</p>
<p>Debuting at <a href="http://www.eatpuesto.com/" target="_blank">Puesto</a> the week of <strong>February 18</strong> are the mixologists&#8217; spin on traditional micheladas and margaritas. The micheladas are made with Pacifico and come rimmed with a homemade tajin made from chili powder and cayenne, dehydrated lemon, sage, oregano, salt and sugar; a logo glass is included in the price and drinkers can bring it back for $1 off their next michelada.</p>

<p>“The La Jolla community welcomed us from the moment we opened our doors last February and we are so grateful,” Puesto co-owner Eric Adler said. “In 2013 we are looking forward to continuing to feed the hungry residents of La Jolla, while supporting organizations, events and schools. We want to work more closely with the Village Merchants Association to make sure La Jolla receives even more recognition, both from San Diegans and visitors, as a top destination for arts, culture and dining.</p>
<p>Puesto is family-owned. Myself, my brother, Alan, and our cousin, Isi Lombrozo, all live in La Jolla and graduated from La Jolla High, so we have a really special connection to this community and we want to see it continue the growth it has experienced over the last two years, with more restaurants and shops opening up, and more visitors.”</p>

<p>When brothers Alan and Eric Adler first tasted Chef Luis Gonzalez’ tacos, they loved them so much that they wanted to open a restaurant. “We’d tasted his cooking at catered parties in San Diego and Los Angeles, and teamed up with our cousin Isi Lombrozo to open Puesto in February (2012),” Eric Adler said. “We wanted to offer La Jolla an upscale Mexican restaurant serving his street food.” Read more <a href="http://www.lajollalight.com/2012/12/12/say-puesto-for-upscale-mexican-street-food-in-la-jolla/" target="_blank">here</a></p>
